The Purpose of this website is to examine and compare gun crime in the USA and the UK.

To try and find out what causes there to be such a difference in the amount of gun violence in these two western countries.

Despite the perception of peace and harmony, more people are killed by violence in the United States than any other industrialised country in the world, and the majority of these homicides are committed with a firearm (Weiss, 1996 p83).

"Guns don't kill people. People do." - NRA Slogun.

"Guns don't die. People do." - The Brady Campaign.

America's crime rates over all are not that different from England and in fact, some are lower. But there is a significant difference in the gun crime rates and America has some of the highest in the world.
